No way, blasé

It’ll make your day to know that your favourite pop fado band, Novembro, has had a song included on a new compilation CD due for official release today (Tuesday 10 July) by Lisboa Records.

Despite its far from impressive cover, it’s worth getting a little over-excited about because we’re in there with the likes of Os Gift, A Naifa, GNR frontman Rui Reininho and the ubiquitous Rodrigo Leão.

Over dark beers with Novembro singer-songwriter Miguel Filipe the other night, drummer Mark William (for it is I) was astounded to hear that it is not, in fact, our first song to get published. Jornada dos Passos Cegos and Abandono ao Crepúsculo were included on another compilation disc released several months ago.

Anyone got a spare copy?!

Cheers.

Rock of Ages

i know, i know……..in fact we ALL know…….that it’s been a long time coming…….a very long time indeed.

Oh woe……..

And there’s been no word from Novembro on this blog…….our unofficial OFFICIAL blog……since last summer (!) - so drummer Mark William has decided to rectify that, right here, right now.

The news is that we’ve got an album very much in the pipeline and due for a September release.

It’s called O Vagabundo das Horas and it’s taken about four years to plan and produce, but HEY……..we’re quite pleased with it really and two of the songs feature the great man himself, Mr Rodrigo Leão.

There are twelve in all, recorded in a series of studios in Lisbon over a period of about 6 months.

Jornada dos Passos Cegos

Solidão a Dois

Leva-me Daqui

Plenitude

Esperança Enganadora (with Rodrigo Leão)

Desedero

Gastei As Palavras Todas

Noite Artifiical

Solidão a Dois (reprise) with Rodrigo Leão

Suspensão

Algemas

A Deriva

And there you have it, Novembro’s first album.

We like it and hope you do too!

I’ll be posting more stuff about it over the coming weeks, but in the meantime you can hear some of the songs on our My Space page at www.myspace.com/novembro.

Thanks for listening,

Mark William
